Duties
- Prepare ingredients through slicing, dicing, and portioning according to established recipes and standards
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, fryers, mixers, and knives
- Follow food safety protocols and maintain cleanliness throughout the kitchen area
- Support menu planning by preparing ingredients for daily specials and catering events
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth workflow and timely meal service
- Maintain accurate food handling practices and adhere to safety standards during all stages of food production
Experience
- Previous experience in a food service environment, such as restaurant or catering settings
- Knowledge of culinary techniques including knife skills, slicing methods, and food preparation processes
- Familiarity with operating commercial kitchen equipment safely and effectively
- Experience with food safety management and maintaining hygiene standards in a busy kitchen
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with kitchen team members and ensure efficient operations
- Background in dietary department or dietary aide roles is a plus but not required
- Demonstrated ability to follow recipes accurately and support meal preparation efforts
