JOB DESCRIPTION for:
CNC Maintenance Tech II - Physical Location Fort Collins, CO 80524
Schedule:
· Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm
Pay Scale:
· $30.00-$40.00 per hour DOE
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience with CNC machine maintenance
- Two or more years of experience in electrical/electronic machine tool repair or equivalent
- Thorough electrical/electronic understanding of equipment such as grinders, mills, drills, lathes, jig mills, NC and CNC equipment
- Working knowledge of national electrical codes and power specifications
- Working knowledge of relay logic, ladder logic, computer systems, servo drives, and motor controls
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience working with manufacturing-based technology, processes, and principles.
- Experience reading and interpreting electrical schematics, hydraulic diagrams, and mechanical drawings
- Experience coordinating with OEM factory service representatives
- Associate’s degree or vocational certification in electrical, mechatronics, or a related technical field
- Experience with 5-axis CNC machining centers and related equipment common to aerospace manufacturing
- Familiarity with CNC control platforms (Fanuc, Siemens, Haas, etc.)
- Experience using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) or ERP work order module
REPORTING:
- This position reports directly to the Maintenance Supervisor.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Adhering to all policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Manual (Doc# 50226)
- Adhering to the codes of the company’s Quality Management System
- Continually demonstrate, promote, and be a cheerleader for the company’s Core Values
- Maintaining confidentiality on all corporate subjects so classified
- Perform complex repair and overhaul of precision CNC machine tools (machining centers, lathes, mills, drills, grinders) to ensure safe and accurate operation
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic/electrical failures and execute appropriate repairs
- Work from engineering drawings, written specifications, schematics, wiring diagrams, and verbal instructions
- Disassemble, modify, and replace parts as necessary; order replacement parts and send defective components out for repair
- Utilize shop equipment including hand and power tools, hoists, forklifts, and special electrical test equipment (amp/volt/ohm meters, multi-meters, ball bars, calibration lasers, etc.)
- Coordinate with factory service representatives on troubleshooting, mechanical repairs, and specification of complex components
- Mentor and provide on-the-job guidance and training to Level I CNC/Equipment Maintenance Technicians
- Maintain work areas in a neat, orderly, and safe condition
- Utilize safe working habits at all times; not endanger self, others, equipment, or property
- Perform preventive maintenance on CNC and production equipment per established PM schedules and document findings
- Maintain and update maintenance records, work orders, and equipment history logs accurately and in a timely manner
- Proactively identify recurring equipment issues and recommend long-term solutions or equipment upgrades to the Maintenance Supervisor

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to a plant environment to include moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and explosives. Safety Glasses must be worn in all required areas. Safety Toe (Steel or Kevlar) shoes or boots must be worn at all times, while working in the manufacturing areas. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. However, ear protection is provided if needed.
