Fernbrook Family Center
Fernbrook Family Center is seeking a dedicated Mental Health Practitioner (MHP) to provide services to children, adults, and families experiencing mental health concerns.
Working under the supervision of a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP), the MHP supports clients in developing skills that improve daily functioning and overall well-being.
Provide mental health skills services to children, adults, and families (individual, family, and group)
Meet productivity benchmarks and weekly billable expectations
Utilize effective, culturally responsive strategies to address client needs
Complete timely, accurate, and compliant documentation
Collaborate with Fernbrook staff and external service providers
Seek supervision and consultation as needed
Participate in staff meetings and professional development
Complete 30 hours of mental health continuing education every two years
Uphold Fernbrook’s mission, values, and policies
Perform other duties as assigned
This position does not supervise other employees but requires collaboration with team members who share client responsibilities.
Required:
Meet Minnesota Statute requirements for:
Mental Health Practitioner OR
Clinical Trainee
Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and acceptable driving record
Ability to pass a criminal background check
Preferred:
Experience working with children, adults, and families
Bilingual or multilingual abilities
Strong ethical decision-making and professional boundaries
Effective written and verbal communication
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong time management and organizational skills
Openness to feedback and ongoing learning
Basic computer proficiency
Alignment with Fernbrook’s mission and values
Flexible schedule, typically between 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Regular travel to homes, community settings, offices, and other locations
Full-time:
Salaried: 40–43 hours/week
Hourly: up to 40 hours/week (overtime requires approval)
Extended periods of sitting, observing, and computer use
Occasional lifting up to 15 pounds
