Estimator – Industrial Fabrication
Milwaukee, WI | 1st Shift | Direct Hire | $80,000 - $90,000
If you enjoy solving problems, building accurate project estimates, and working with custom industrial fabrication projects, this could be a great fit. You'll work closely with engineering, project management, and fabrication teams to put together competitive bids for a variety of commercial and industrial projects involving piping, structural steel, and ductwork.
What You'll Be Doing
- Review blueprints, specifications, P&IDs, and isometric drawings to develop accurate cost estimates.
- Prepare material takeoffs and labor estimates for custom fabrication projects.
- Work with vendors and subcontractors to gather pricing on materials and services.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations to confirm project scope and pricing before bids are submitted.
- Help identify cost-saving opportunities and continuously improve estimating accuracy.
- Support project turnover by providing complete estimating information to the operations team after award.
What We're Looking For
To be considered, you should have:
- At least 3 years of estimating experience in industrial or custom fabrication.
- Hands-on experience estimating process piping, industrial piping, structural steel fabrications, or industrial ductwork.
- The ability to confidently read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, piping isometrics, and P&IDs.
- Strong Microsoft Excel and computer skills.
- Experience with estimating software such as QuickPen, AutoBid Mechanical, Tekla PowerFab, or similar is highly preferred.
- Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical background is a plus.
Schedule & Pay
- 1st Shift
- Typical business hours are between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM (full-time, salaried position).
