Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Special Needs Caregiver to provide exceptional care and support to a young adult with diverse needs, including developmental disabilities, autism, and other health conditions.
This position is for afternoon and evenings and some weekends.

Responsibilities
- Assist client with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility using resident’s personal assistance devices.
- Be able to drive client to Dr appointments, community businesses, and any social activities.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and observe changes in health status to ensure safety and well-being.
- Administer medications following care plans and HIPAA regulations to maintain confidentiality and compliance.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs, ensuring proper food handling and cleanliness standards are maintained.
- Implement personalized care plans designed by healthcare professionals, adapting support strategies as needed for each individual’s condition.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to client with autism, or other developmental disabilities to foster engagement and reduce anxiety.
- Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties such as cleaning resident areas and assisting with laundry.
- Document observations, care activities, and any incidents accurately in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Collaborate with the family and other caregivers to coordinate comprehensive care delivery.
Skills
- Proven experience working in group homes with developmentally disabled adults, de-escalation skills in home environments.
- Strong knowledge of patient care techniques including assisting with ADLs, medication administration, patient monitoring, and vital signs measurement.
- Certification in First Aid and CPR is required;
- Familiarity with autism support techniques, and working with individuals with disabilities.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using resident’s personal assistive devices.
- Excellent observational skills for patient monitoring and patient safety; attentive to changes in behavior or health status.
- Compassionate communication skills for engaging client empathetically while respecting their dignity and privacy.
- Basic cleaning skills to maintain a hygienic living environment; knowledge of infection control practices is preferred. Join us in delivering heartfelt caregiving that transforms lives! Pay: $28.00 per hour
Experience:
- In home caregiving for adults with autism/cognitive delays.: 3 years (Required)
- Seizure experience at work: 1 year (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- Drivers License (Required)
