Responsibilities
- Assist residents by providing reminders to do their activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, dressing, grooming, and medications.
- Monitor residents’ by observing patient behavioral conditions, and reporting changes to healthcare professionals promptly.
- Following care plans and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy.
- Assist in prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs.
- Supervise residents during recreational activities, community outings, and transportation to appointments or errands.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and adhering to infection control protocols.
- Document care activities accurately in resident records, including progress notes, medication administration logs, and incident reports.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, behavioral issues, autism, dementia, or neurodevelopmental disorders is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, first aid, CPR certification, and vital signs monitoring, a plus.
- Experience in group home settings, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is preferred.
- Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and teamwork within multidisciplinary care teams.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and maintaining confidentiality of sensitive health information.
- A compassionate attitude combined with a proactive approach to caregiving ensures the best outcomes for those served.
