American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Clinical Resource Unit (Float Pool) position in Normal, IL, requiring Epic EMR experience and an active IL RN license.

Clinical Resource Unit (Float Pool) within a hospital setting in Normal, IL
-
Float pool covering multiple inpatient units including Medical-Oncology, Surgical-Orthopedic, Cardiovascular Care Unit, Progressive Care Unit, Mental Health Unit, and Acute Rehab

May also float to Carle Health Methodist Hospital, Young Minds, Carle Health Pekin Hospital, and/or Carle Health Proctor Hospital

Patient population includes acute and chronically ill cardiac, pulmonary, oncology, orthopedic, surgical, and mental health patients
-
Medical diagnoses include but are not limited to coronary artery disease, MI, dysrhythmia, CHF, stroke, cancer, cellulitis, post-surgical care, and chest pain

Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 3 days per week (36 hours per week)

Weekend shifts on a rotation basis

Holiday shifts on a rotation basis

Epic EMR used; experience required

Active IL RN license required; temporary license accepted

Current BLS certification (AHA) required

Minimum 1 year of relevant RN experience required

College diploma in nursing or equivalent required

Epic EMR experience required

Experience with IV venipuncture, blood administration, and post-operative care

Ability to float to and provide care across diverse inpatient units and patient populations
-
Responsibilities include conducting assessments, developing and modifying care plans, administering medications, performing IV venipuncture and blood administration, preparing patients for procedures, managing post-operative care, and facilitating patient discharge and education

Delegates appropriate tasks to Healthcare Technicians (HCTs) and follows up on completion throughout the shift

Collaborates with interdisciplinary team members and serves as a resource to staff across various units

Maintains patient safety standards including fall precautions, pressure ulcer prevention, isolation precautions, and ambulation safety

Conducts bedside shift reports, hourly rounding, and maintains patient communication boards

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted

Candidates who have been on assignment with Carle Health for 1 continuous year must convert to permanent employment or take a 6-month break in service before returning to any Carle Health location

RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
