Job Summary
We are looking for an energetic, hungry, experienced line cook looking to move up in a company interested using their skills to forward their career in the food industry. We are a busy college sports bar located in Downtown Chapel Hill known for their wings, pizza, and burgers while offering a diverse menu of fresh high quality food. We are open late, so nights and weekends are required. Hours expectations will average 50 per week and may vary slightly depending on the time of year but we will never ask you to work 60-70 hrs a week as many restaurants expect of their salary employees. Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
- Supervise and train kitchen staff to ensure high standards of food quality and safety.
- Develop and implement menus that align with customer preferences and seasonal offerings.
- Maintain inventory levels and manage ordering to minimize waste while adhering to budget constraints.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the kitchen environment.
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service and customer satisfaction.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations of kitchen staff and provide constructive feedback.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a restaurant or casual dining setting, preferably in a management role.
- Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, including food preparation techniques and safety standards.
- Demonstrated team management skills with experience in staff training and development.
- Proficiency in budgeting and cost control within a kitchen environment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
