Registered Nurse – Med Surg (Travel Assignment)
Location: Mattoon, IL
Duration: 8 weeks (Start Date: 07/20/2026)
Shift: Day | 3x12‑hour shifts (07:00 AM – 07:30 PM)
Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Med Surg RN for an 8‑week travel assignment in a busy medical‑surgical unit. The nurse will provide direct patient care, assess and implement individualized care plans, and serve as a clinical leader for the patient care team. Candidates must have at least 3 years of Med Surg experience and hold current BLS and ACLS certifications.
Requirements
- Minimum 3+ years of Med Surg RN experience (required)
- Active Illinois RN license (required at submission)
- Current BLS certification (AHA) (required)
- Current ACLS certification (AHA) (required within 30 days of start)
- Must reside outside a 50‑mile radius of the facility (locals not accepted)
- Must provide work history, skills checklist (within 1 year), and 2 supervisory references
Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care
- Administer medications and monitor patient responses
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
- Document patient care accurately in Cerner EMR
- Provide clinical leadership and support to the patient care team
- Work every other weekend as scheduled
