Wellness Counseling | Ramsey, Hoboken, or Montclair, NJ
About Us
Wellness Counseling is a thriving multi location group therapy practice serving children, teens, and adults across northern New Jersey, with offices in Ramsey, Hoboken, and Montclair. Our team of 25+ licensed clinicians is known for same week appointments, a warm and collaborative culture, and direct insurance billing that removes barriers for families. We are expanding into comprehensive ADHD and psychological testing as part of a fully integrated care model that includes therapy and psychiatric medication management.
The Role
We are seeking a licensed psychologist (PhD or PsyD) with strong assessment expertise to conduct ADHD and related psychological evaluations for children, adolescents, and adults on a per diem, as needed basis. Referral volume varies month to month, so this role fits someone who wants meaningful assessment cases alongside other work, not a fixed weekly caseload. Our intake team handles scheduling, benefits conversations, and payment, so your time goes to evaluation and report writing, not logistics.
This is an ideal role for a testing psychologist who wants assessment cases with full flexibility and no minimum commitment: a school psychologist adding private work, a professor or hospital psychologist with open days, or an experienced evaluator who wants occasional cases without running a business.
What You Will Do
- Conduct comprehensive ADHD evaluations for children, teens, and adults, including differentials with anxiety, mood, and learning concerns
- Administer, score, and interpret standardized cognitive and behavioral measures
- Write clear, useful reports that families, schools, and prescribers can act on, delivered within 2 weeks of testing
- Provide a feedback session for each client or family
- Collaborate with our therapists and prescriber on shared clients and refer complex neuropsychological cases appropriately
What We Are Looking For
- Active NJ psychologist license (PhD or PsyD)
- Substantial training and experience in psychological or psychoeducational assessment
- Experience evaluating both children/adolescents and adults preferred
- Strong report writing: timely, readable, and school and accommodation ready
- Warm, family friendly feedback style
- Neuropsychological training or board certification a plus, not required
- Own testing materials or Q-interactive proficiency a plus
What We Offer
- $85 to $95 per hour based on experience and credentials, paid for all evaluation activities: testing, scoring, report writing, and feedback. Each evaluation type carries an agreed time budget, discussed at case assignment
- W2 per diem position; benefits eligibility based on hours worked, discussed during the interview process
- Referrals from our team of 25+ therapists and our prescriber, with volume that varies; you accept or decline each case as your schedule allows
- Full administrative support: scheduling, intake coordination, and billing all handled for you
- Dedicated testing space in our offices
- Flexible volume: take as many or as few evaluations as your schedule allows
