Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive inspections and diagnostics on various vehicle systems using automotive electrical systems, schematics, and diagnostic tools.
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on engines, transmissions, powertrains, suspension systems, brakes, shocks & struts, and other mechanical components.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools to execute repairs efficiently while adhering to safety standards.
- Service tires, replace shocks & struts to ensure vehicle stability and safety.
- Complete oil changes, brake repairs and other routine maintenance tasks to prolong vehicle lifespan.
- Read and interpret schematics for complex mechanical systems repair; troubleshoot electrical issues within automotive electrical systems.
- Maintain detailed service records and communicate effectively with customers about repair needs and estimates.
- Stay current with industry best practices and technological advancements in automotive diagnostics and repair.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working in the automotive repair industry with dealership experience preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge across a broad range of vehicle systems including powertrain, transmissions, suspension, brakes.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, schematics, auto estimating software, and hand/power tools.
- Familiarity with ADAS calibration, auto body repair basics, welding techniques, and auto electrical systems is highly desirable.
- Ability to read technical manuals and schematics accurately; excellent problem-solving skills.
- Valid mechanic certification or relevant technical training; ASE certification is a plus.
- Experience working with GM vehicles or heavy equipment mechanics is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to explain repairs clearly to clients.
