Structural Steel / Miscellaneous Metals Project ManagerKey Responsibilities
- Maintain strong customer relationships and communication throughout all phases of the project
- Manage all project submittals, RFIs, shop drawings, and documentation to ensure timely approvals
- Coordinate projects between clients, architects, engineers, detailers, shop production, and field crews
- Review structural and architectural drawings, specifications, and contract documents
- Take accurate field measurements to support fabrication and installation activities
- Create and maintain project schedules, tracking fabrication, delivery, and installation progress
- Schedule and manage shop and field installation crews on a daily and weekly basis
- Price, prepare, and process change orders while ensuring proper documentation and client approval
- Coordinate deliveries, trucking, cranes, and erection sequencing as required
- Monitor change orders and production schedules to ensure profitability
- Maintain accurate project records, reports, and correspondence
- Provide weekly progress reports on all active projects
- Manage work orders, punch lists, and closeout documentation
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with OSHA and job site safety requirements
Qualifications
- 3–10+ years of experience in structural steel and/or miscellaneous metals project management
- Strong understanding of steel fabrication, erection methods, welding, and field operations
- Ability to read and interpret structural drawings, shop drawings, and technical specifications
- Experience coordinating with general contractors, architects, engineers, and field personnel
- Highly organized with strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Proficient with project management and construction software such as Microsoft Project, Procore, Bluebeam, Tekla, AutoCAD, etc.
- Knowledge of fabrication processes, material procurement, and scheduling
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to job sites as required
