Overview

In this role, you will be responsible for managing a wide range of accounting functions, ensuring compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), and maintaining accurate financial records. Your expertise will support budgeting, financial analysis, and reporting processes that drive strategic decision-making. Responsibilities
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable functions, including invoice processing and vendor payments using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage.
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliations regularly to verify the integrity of financial data across various accounts.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring timely completion of financial reports in compliance with GAAP standards.
- Assist with payroll management processes utilizing systems like ADP, Workday, Ceridian, or UltiPro, including payroll tax filings and data entry.
- Perform detailed account analysis to identify discrepancies or variances and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain documentation for internal controls such as SOX compliance and support audits related to governmental or non-profit accounting requirements.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles including GAAP, governmental accounting standards, and non-profit accounting practices.
- Proficiency with financial software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, or Ceridian; experience with payroll management systems like ADP or UltiPro is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to perform account reconciliation, balance sheet review, and journal entry preparation with precision.
- Familiarity with technical accounting concepts including double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and account analysis.
- Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy (10 key typing) and attention to detail in bookkeeping tasks.
- Experience working within public accounting firms or corporate finance departments is preferred; familiarity with SOX compliance is a plus.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
