Our Head Gardeners are at the core of what we do and are the stewards of the landscape. As a Head Gardener you are able to put your background and experience to use as part of a team of professionals taking care of some of the most beautiful spaces in Omaha. Head Gardeners lead crews, manage and execute on property workloads, and work directly with clients to create a beautiful experience.
What you’ll do:
- Manage a portfolio of properties to provide seasonal care
- Manage plant health in the garden
- Utilize technical skills in the areas of pruning, weed management, and pest control
- Understand the design intent of a garden space to direct your actions in the garden
- Manage 1-2 crew members in the execution of tasks
- Work as part of a broader operations team to contribute where your skillset best fits
- Work directly with clients to understand what is happening in their outdoor space
- Work with a design team to recommend improvements in managed garden spaces
What you’ll bring:
***Prior gardening experience and applicable horticultural or adjacent degree is a requirement for this position.***
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required.
- Minimum of 3 years of in the garden professional gardening experience.
- Category 4 Commercial Pesticide Applicator's license (or ability to obtain one)
- A valid driver's license
- Professional work demeanor and appearance
Preferred but not required:
- Possessing a solid understanding of sales automation tools to build a pipeline at scale is highly important.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Previous experience as a Business/Sales Development Representative is highly preferred.
- Experience in the landscaping industry is a plus.
Where you’ll work:
Though your days will be spent in some of the most beautiful places in Omaha and the surrounding area, you will be reporting to our location just north of 16th and John J Pershing Drive each morning in order to meet up with your crew, load tools and equipment, and take a company vehicle to site.
