This position will provide a variety of services aimed at improving the care for patients seen at the Wellington Way and Gill infusion centers. The RN is a member of the multidisciplinary ambulatory team who is responsible for patient care, patient satisfaction, and clinical outcomes. This position will provide patient care specific to disease management including skilled assessments, care plans and care plan implementation, evaluations or clinical interventions, and infusion administration.
UK HealthCare Infusion Services, part of the UK Specialty Pharmacy, offers two convenient outpatient infusion options for non-oncology patients being treated for inflammatory disease states, neurology, allergy, immunology, nephrology, transplant, and many others. Wellington Infusion Services is the off-campus infusion suite of UK HealthCare and UK Specialty Pharmacy. This location is not hospital-based.
The primary responsibilities for this position consist of providing total, comprehensive, continuous and patient centered care which includes: assessing, documenting, planning, implementing, teaching, developing, and evaluating a comprehensive nursing plan of care; delivering direct patient care; ensuring patient satisfaction; training and delegating duties for Nursing Care Technicians (Nursing Assistant); and adhering to University policies and procedures as well as federal, state and local regulations. Furthermore, this environment supports collaborative efforts among the nursing staff and the team of physicians to increase communication and enhance expected patient outcomes. This includes utilization of the nursing process in conjunction with a comprehensive patient-centered plan of care, ensuring patient satisfaction.
