Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will support clinical operations, ensure patient comfort, and uphold the highest standards of infection control and medical documentation. Prior experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic is preferred, along with knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical terminology. A background in pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, or general dentistry is a plus. The Dental Assistant will be integral to providing exceptional patient care through chairside assisting, radiography, and maintaining clinical efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during various procedures including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric treatments
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available
- Perform chairside assisting with skills in four-handed dentistry and aseptic technique
- Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans and other medical imaging as required
- Record vital signs and monitor patient comfort throughout procedures
- Manage medical records and documentation accurately using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix
- Maintain infection control protocols in accordance with HIPAA standards and OSHA regulations
- Educate patients on treatment plans, post-operative care, and oral health maintenance
- Support administrative duties such as scheduling appointments and managing patient flow when needed
Qualifications
- Proven experience in dental assisting within a clinical setting; familiarity with dental clinic operations is essential
- Proficiency with EMR systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic; experience with medical coding and records management is advantageous
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques
- Ability to operate dental radiography equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners
- Strong understanding of pediatric dentistry concepts if applicable
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members
- Certification in radiography or relevant dental assisting credentials preferred
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
