The City of Crestwood Public Works Department is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Maintenance Worker I or II. Performs labor required in order to maintain the City’s 50 miles of streets and 120 acres of park properties. Operates various trucks, light and heavy equipment. Performs semi-skilled work that will involve strenuous physical exertion, including asphalt patching, concrete work, crack sealing, grading, forestry, horticulture, landscaping retaining walls, painting, carpentry, and trash removal from City properties. Maintenance employees are on-call during winter months to remove snow and ice from City streets, parks, sidewalks, and steps. Frequent lifting and moving of light and heavy objects are required. Work includes non-routine, weekend, and emergency hours. Must have the ability to work in extreme temperatures. Performs other duties as assigned.
Education, qualifications, and experience required:
The qualified applicant will have a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. Knowledge of street maintenance, equipment/truck operations, snow removal procedures, construction, etc., is preferred. Must possess or be able to obtain a Class “B” CDL within 6 months of employment. Must be able to pass Police background check. Must be able to pass drug screen, per DOT guidelines.
For entry level experience, salary range is: $42,236-$44,339.
If you have seven or more years’ experience and possess a valid Class “A” or “B” Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with air brakes, the salary range is $50,500-$53,025.
Pay: $42,236.00 - $53,025.00 per year
