JOB DESCRIPTION
TITLE: Shift Lead
SUMMARY
A Shift Lead is responsible for managing the operations of a shift and leading the on-shift crew. The Shift Lead must be fully proficient in all Brewista responsibilities to effectively assist a shift when needed. A Shift Lead provides correction, encouragement, guidance, and redirection to the team throughout the shift to ensure the integrity of our values, product, and service are maintained in the Manger’s absence.
A Shift Lead exemplifies our values and culture every day (on or off the clock), and is a reliable, stable leader the team can lean on in stressful situations. The Shift Lead reports to the stand management team.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Be proficient in all Brewista duties and skill sets
Understand the varying daily flows of business to lead accordingly
Be knowledgeable of all recipes and secret menu items
Be knowledgeable of all stand processes and procedures
Be able to identify and correct flow bottlenecks while working a position
Do more than what is expected from others
Prioritize the team’s needs and treat everyone fairly, avoiding favoritism
Complete and be able to teach all weekly chores, checklists, and shift change duties
Position team members in varying roles to provide exposure while maximizing efficiency
Ensure team members stay productive during the shift
Take full responsibility for the operations and energy of the shift: drink quality, customer interaction, speed, music, etc. Make changes when necessary
Record cash tips and cash drawers
Communicate with the stand management team about relevant developments in personnel, equipment, inventory levels, and operations
Assist the stand management team with the training and development of the team members
Be proficient with the TouchPoint system
WORK SHCEDULE REQUIREMENTS
Work a flexible schedule, which can include early mornings (5 a.m.) and late nights (11:30 p.m.)
Follow company procedure for communicating time off requests
Regularly work weekends and be available to work holidays, if necessary
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Create and maintain genuine, uplifting interactions
Work carefully and quickly with hot water and coffee, glass bottles, and dairy products
Work outside for prolonged periods, in all weather conditions
Be able to lift up to 50lbs
Be able to stand comfortably for hours at a time
Be able to climb a ladder and use a stepladder
Be able to stand, sit, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as necessary to stock and clean in the stand
Safely walk in between and around cars in the drive thru line
Safely use a utility knife
Operate any position in the stand during peak hours
Maintain awareness of the shift’s operations while working a position
Be able to address operational, procedural, or cultural issues with team members
Adapt to problems and implement solutions during stressful situations
