JOB Under general direction of the Community Services Supervisor or designee to assist in the development, organization and supervision of recreation and community service activities and programs; including, but not limited to overseeing various sports, arts, youth and adult programs, and special events; may include supervising a recreation facility; and to perform related work as required. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES

Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

Performs a variety of tasks involving community relations activities as a liaison with citizens, business community, agencies' representatives, professionals from various organizations and non-profit groups.

Fieldwork/Special Events will require some evening and weekend assignments.

Confers with and assists city departments and others in administration regarding outreach and community engagement.

Acts as departmental representative in meetings and conferences involving public and private organizations and city officials as requested.

Organizes and tracks city volunteer list.

Coordinates public events, including the development and release of items such as brochures, visual presentations, or other public relations materials.

Assist and develops, implements, and maintains a filing and tracking system covering disseminated information.

Prepares reports including those that present objectives, scope, findings, and recommendations.

Coordinates with outreach related efforts for grant applications.

Assist in managing City’s Website, Social Media sites, City Hall Electronic Board and Newsletter

Coordinates City’s monthly food bank

Assists in the development, organization coordination and supervision of City-wide recreation activities and services;

Maintains a variety of records and files;

Assist with citywide events and other programs when needed and other duties when assigned

Monitors and keeps informed of current trends in the recreation and senior services field, including program development trends and best practices, and potential operational improvements

Regular Schedule is Tuesday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (Working hours may require irregular hours, various shifts, weekends, holidays and/or on-call status).
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
- Requires vision (which may be corrected) to read small print.

Performs lifting, pushing, and/or pulling which does not exceed 40 pounds.

Subject to outside and inside environmental conditions with occasional minor discomforts from exposure to less-than-optimal temperature and air conditions

May be required to use personal vehicle in the course of employment.

May be subject to extended periods of walking, pushing, pulling, bending, reaching, kneeling, lifting or carrying.
