Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. This position requires strong technical knowledge, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work independently while maintaining Acy Services’ commitment to quality workmanship, safety, and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial HVAC equipment and systems.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using appropriate testing equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance on commercial HVAC systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and manufacturer specifications.
- Install and replace compressors, motors, belts, thermostats, controls, and other HVAC components.
- Charge, recover, and handle refrigerants in accordance with EPA regulations.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with applicable building codes, safety regulations, and company standards.
- Communicate findings and repair recommendations to supervisors and customers.
- Complete service tickets, work orders, and required documentation accurately and timely.
- Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment in a clean and serviceable condition.
- Respond to emergency service calls when assigned.
- Work safely while following OSHA regulations and company safety procedures.
- Maintain a professional appearance and represent the company positively at customer locations.
- Assist with training and mentoring less experienced technicians when requested.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of three (3) years of commercial HVAC experience.
- EPA Universal Certification required.
- Journeyman-level HVAC knowledge and skills.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to successfully pass any required background screening or drug testing in accordance with company policy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical school or vocational training in HVAC.
- Additional HVAC certifications or manufacturer certifications.
- Experience servicing a wide variety of commercial HVAC equipment.
- Experience with building automation or commercial control systems.

- Thorough knowledge of commercial HVAC systems and components.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.
- Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.

Physical Requirements
- Frequently lift, carry, push, or pull up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to climb ladders, work from lifts, rooftops, and elevated surfaces.
- Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and reach overhead.
- Ability to work in confined spaces.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to distinguish colors for wiring and electrical components.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Work Environment
- Work is performed primarily at commercial customer locations. The position regularly requires exposure to varying temperatures, dust, noise, electrical equipment, moving mechanical parts, heights, and other conditions commonly associated with commercial HVAC service and installation. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn as required.
