Part-Time Housekeeper / Family Assistant
Location: Alexandria, VA
Schedule: Approx. 20 hours per week
Position Overview
A busy dual-career household in Alexandria, VA is seeking a highly organized, proactive, and
energetic Part-Time Housekeeper / Family Assistant to support the smooth day-to-day running
of a 5,000 sq ft home.
This is a “Part- time housekeeper” role — a hands-on, adaptable individual who can step in
where needed, maintain order, and provide consistent support during busy periods or when
additional household help is required.
The ideal candidate will bring a service-minded attitude, flexibility, and strong attention to
detail, with the ability to seamlessly integrate into a family environment that includes two young
children and a live-in grandmother.
Key Responsibilities
Housekeeping & Household Maintenance
Daily and weekly cleaning of high-use areas including kitchen and bathrooms
Maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout the home
Dishwashing and kitchen upkeep (including maintaining specific household preferences)
Laundry for adults; occasional linens and guest room preparation
Rotational deep cleaning tasks
Bed making, including managing bunk beds and multi-level home demands
Organization &Household Support
Maintaining organization of children’s toys and shared spaces
General tidying and resetting of the home daily
Assisting with seasonal or occasional deep cleaning projects
Ensuring the home always remains guest-ready
Family Assistance (Light Support)
Morning support (approx. 7:00 AM – 11:00 AM) assisting with children’s routines:
o Preparing simple breakfasts or lunches
o Helping children get ready for school
Occasional childcare support (not a primary responsibility)
Errands & Light Household Management
Grocery prep (washing/prepping produce)
Dry cleaning drop-off/pick-up
Returns and light errands
Acting as the “eyes and ears” for scheduled vendors when needed
Schedule
Ideally Monday–Friday mornings (7:00 AM – 11:00 AM)
Additional flexible hours during the week to total 20 hours
Option to continue after morning shift or return later in the day
Occasional flexibility for additional hours is a plus

Compensation ;$30-$35 per hour ($30–$40 per hour DOE)
Opportunity for growth and increased compensation based on performance
Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour
