American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position at a major academic medical center in Ohio, requiring 3 years of PCU experience and Epic proficiency.

PCU/Step-down unit within a large academic teaching hospital in Ohio
-
Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:30)

13-week contract

Required to float to units of equivalent or lower acuity within the health system as needed

Weekend rotation and rotating holidays required

Core skills performed include telemetry monitoring, cardiac dysrhythmia interpretation and management, IV starts, and peripheral line care/management
-
Epic EMR — experience required

Active Ohio RN license or compact RN license required and must be in hand at time of consideration

Minimum 3 years of PCU/step-down experience required

Certifications required: BLS and ACLS

Proficiency with Epic EMR required

IV start and telemetry monitoring skills required

Nursing degree from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program required

2 professional references required: at least 1 from a Manager, Director, or formal leadership capacity (e.g., Supervisor); a Charge RN is acceptable as the 2nd reference — coworker references are not accepted

Previous travel nursing experience preferred

This facility is an academic medical center affiliated with a major university health system

Ohio state law requires fingerprinting as part of the credentialing process — candidates must complete fingerprinting promptly upon accepting a contract

Candidates outside Ohio but within driving distance will need to travel to an Ohio fingerprinting location; those farther away will receive a fingerprinting packet by mail

All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed prior to consideration and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or fewer

Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers

Former employees of the facility are eligible for a travel assignment after a minimum 6-month separation from the health system

Current employees of any Ohio State University hospital location are not eligible for travel assignments within the health system
