Aalchem is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Receiving & Logistics Coordinator to join our Operations team. This is an office-based administrative position responsible for accurately receiving inventory into our ERP system (Chempax), and supporting logistics operations that keep materials moving efficiently throughout our supply chain. The ideal candidate enjoys working with numbers, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and communicates effectively with internal teams, suppliers, and transportation partners.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Receive and accurately enter incoming inventory into Chempax.
- Verify purchase orders, bills of lading, receiving documents, and supplier paperwork.
- Calculate product costs, including cost per pound, freight allocations, currency conversions, and other landed cost components.
- Investigate and resolve receiving discrepancies with Purchasing, Accounting, Warehouse, and suppliers.
- Provide timely updates to internal departments regarding inbound materials and expected delivery schedules.
- Coordinate and track inbound shipments, including containers, ISO tanks, and truck deliveries.
- Update logistics systems and communicate shipment status, delivery schedules, and delays to internal teams and, when appropriate, customers.
- Coordinate delivery appointments and inbound freight scheduling.
- Generate reports, maintain operational records, and identify process improvement opportunities.
- Perform other administrative and operational duties as assigned.
Qualifications / Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree or related coursework preferred.
- Experience in receiving, inventory control, logistics, purchasing support, accounting, or administrative operations preferred.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills with the ability to perform accurate calculations.
- Experience with ERP systems preferred; Chempax experience is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating across multiple departments.
- Knowledge of inventory management, freight coordination, international shipping, or landed cost calculations is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Primarily a seated office position with frequent computer use.
- Occasionally required to walk through warehouse areas.
- May occasionally lift or move items up to 50 pounds.
