Industrial Truck Mechanic
Shift: 3rd Shift
Schedule: Sunday through Thursday, 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM
Starting pay will be based on experience and qualifications and may be adjusted based on demonstrated skills, knowledge, and job performance.
Job Summary
Under general supervision, this position is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs on forklifts, tugs, burden carriers, and Automatic Guided Vehicle (AGV) systems. The successful candidate will perform both mechanical and electronic maintenance while ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently. Additional responsibilities include completing preventive maintenance inspections according to established PM checklists and performing other related duties as assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair battery-powered forklifts, tugs, burden carriers, and Automatic Guided Vehicles (AGVs).
- Perform preventive maintenance and inspections using established PM procedures and checklists.
- Maintain and repair electrical, electronic, computer-controlled, and mechanical systems utilizing industry-standard tools and testing equipment.
- Inspect wiring, electrical components, and mechanical systems using multimeters, precision measuring devices, and specialized diagnostic equipment.
- Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and replace printed circuit boards, sensors, and electronic components as needed.
- Respond to and resolve AGV system collisions, backup issues, and operational failures by identifying and correcting vehicle or system errors.
- Repair and troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and automated equipment.
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies while performing maintenance activities.
- Assist with other maintenance-related duties as assigned.
QualificationsExperience
- Minimum of two (2) years of full-time experience in the maintenance and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge and SkillsKnowledge of:
- Tools, materials, equipment, and repair methods used in the maintenance of industrial vehicles and automated systems.
- Welding equipment and techniques.
- Hydraulic systems and components.
- Basic electrical theory and circuitry.
- Basic electronics and digital controls.
- Computer systems and maintenance software.
Ability to:
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and ladder logic.
- Understand digital electronic systems and control designs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and electronic equipment issues.
- Perform mathematical calculations and measurements accurately.
- Effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced industrial environment.
