Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented CNC Set Up Operator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and setting up CNC machines to ensure efficient and precise production runs. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced equipment and contribute to the creation of high-quality metal components used across various industries.
Responsibilities
- Set up, calibrate, and operate CNC machining equipment, including CNC lathes and milling machines, ensuring all tools and fixtures are correctly installed according to specifications.
- Program CNC machines using G-code to produce parts that meet detailed blueprints and engineering requirements.
- Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings to ensure accurate machining processes.
- Perform manual machining tasks such as turning on lathes or grinding with grinders when necessary for setup or finishing processes.
- Troubleshoot machine issues promptly, perform routine maintenance, and make adjustments to optimize machining performance.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols; operate hand tools, power tools, and tooling equipment safely at all times.
- Operate a 100- ton crane.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a CNC Set Up Operator or similar role within manufacturing or metal machining environments.
- Basic math skills for calculating dimensions, tolerances, feed rates, speeds, and other machining parameters.
- Ability to operate forklifts and power tools safely when required
- Strong attention to detail with excellent manual dexterity; mechanical blueprint interpretation skills are essential.
- Ability to lift 50lbs on a regular basis.
