Job Summary
Unified Health is launching its very first internal medication dispensary! We are seeking a highly experienced, autonomous, and driven Certified Pharmacy Technician to spearhead and operate this new department from top to bottom.
This unique role requires a blend of deep technical expertise and strong leadership initiative. You must be completely comfortable working independently to manage the daily operations, while seamlessly collaborating with our clinic providers and staff. The ideal candidate is an expert in pharmacy billing, insurance verification, and pharmacy management systems, with the proven ability to build a smooth, efficient dispensing workflow from scratch.
Key Responsibilities:
- Department Ownership: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the new internal pharmacy from top to bottom, ensuring smooth workflow and execution.
- Medication Dispensing: Dispense medications accurately and efficiently in-office to our patient population according to prescriptions and protocols.
- Advanced Billing & Insurance: Manage complete prescription billing processes, navigate complex insurance coverages, process prior authorizations, and resolve adjudication errors independently.
- Inventory Management: Build and maintain the initial medication and supply inventory, including ordering, stock replenishment, and enforcing proper regulatory storage practices.
- Systems Integration: Utilize pharmacy management software and document all dispensing activities accurately within Electronic Health Records (EHR).
- Patient & Clinical Liaison: Manage prescription refill requests and phone calls. Coordinate effectively with healthcare providers and clinical teams using precise medical terminology to ensure excellent patient care.
- Compounding & Compliance: Prepare sterile and non-sterile compounded medications using aseptic techniques for IV infusions and other treatments. Ensure absolute compliance with all state, federal, and company pharmacy regulations.
- Apply strong customer service and communication skills to promote our services effectively
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of working pharmacy experience (Required). Prior experience assisting in a pharmacy launch or managing an independent pharmacy environment is highly preferred.
- Autonomy & Initiative: Proven ability to work entirely alone and self-direct daily tasks, balanced with excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate with the broader clinical staff.
- Bilingual: Spanish and English (Required).
- Technical Expertise: Advanced, comprehensive understanding of pharmacy billing systems, PBMs, insurance verification, and medical terminology related to pharmaceuticals.
- Adaptability: Exceptional organizational skills and a drive to build processes from the ground up in a dynamic, growing environment.
- Detail-Oriented: Ability to maintain absolute accuracy and attention to detail under pressure.
Location: Sherman Oaks, CA
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (hours may vary)
Pay: $22.00 - $30.00 per hour
