American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist with at least 1 year of outpatient experience for a 13-week contract at a hospital-based outpatient PT department, with the possibility of inpatient flex coverage.

Primarily hospital-based outpatient PT setting, with potential to flex into the inpatient medical-surgical rehab unit

Patient volume of 8–10 patients per day

Patient population ranges from pediatric (ages 5+) to geriatric
-
Common diagnoses include total joints, back/shoulder/foot pain, and neurological conditions such as TBI, stroke, and Parkinson's disease
-
Charting is done in TruBridge (Evident EMR)
-
Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm with a 1-hour lunch break (12–1pm)

Weekend rotation required approximately once every 5 weekends, covering inpatient units

May be included in holiday rotation coverage

13-week contract, day shift, 8-hour shifts

Minimum 1 year of outpatient PT experience required; candidates with inpatient-only experience may also be considered

Active PT state license required if applicable

Current BLS certification required

Experience with a range of musculoskeletal and neurological diagnoses preferred

Ability to flex between outpatient and inpatient settings as needed

Responsibilities include comprehensive musculoskeletal assessment, developing and executing individualized treatment plans, delivering skilled interventions, monitoring patient progress, educating patients and families, coordinating care with other providers, and documenting services per legal, ethical, and reimbursement standards

Department is supported by 2 PTAs

Orientation consists of 1–2 shifts with a preceptor

Online modules must be completed prior to starting on the floor; modules take approximately 20 hours to complete

Business casual attire (collared shirt, khaki or black pants) or solid-colored scrubs are acceptable
