The Trinity Jubilee Center is a secular nonprofit and the social service hub for Lewiston-Auburn, Maine. Since opening in 1991, the Center has provided comprehensive support through five core programs: a soup kitchen and food rescue project, food pantry and diaper bank, day shelter, resource center and free clinic, and immigrant integration program. These services help over 4,000 individuals each year get back on their feet by addressing unmet needs in one of Maine’s most impoverished communities. Located in downtown Lewiston, the Center is undergoing an exciting transformation. Having outgrown its current space in a rented church basement, a new, purpose-built facility is set to open in late 2025. This expansion will significantly enhance the Center’s ability to provide medical, mental health, and substance misuse services—critical public health resources for a high-need population. As a GoodHealth Works AmeriCorps member at the Trinity Jubilee Center, you’ll be at the heart of expanding life-changing public health services for the community. You will be the lead person creating and leading the daily operations of these expanded services. Your work will include recruiting, scheduling, and supporting volunteer medical providers and connecting with local agencies to bring critical medical, mental health, and substance use services on-site, ensuring that people in need have access to care. From scheduling providers and patients to promoting services and identifying gaps, you’ll play a key role in strengthening the Center’s impact.
Member Duties : The AmeriCorps member will be hands-on in the day shelter, building relationships with guests and helping them access essential resources. Every day, you’ll make a direct difference in people’s lives by removing barriers to care and ensuring they have the support they need. Your service will help shape the future of the Center’s programs. By gathering insights from guests, tracking service usage, and assessing community needs, you’ll contribute to the ongoing development of programs that respond to the challenges people face. Assist in data collection, entry, and reporting. Support the expansion of the Center’s medical, mental health, and substance use services. Collaborate with local agencies to schedule and publicize services, schedule patients, identify gaps and recruit partners to fill gaps. Assist with general day shelter operations to build rapport with guests and identify needs. Start and end date may be flexible. This position has a 1200-hour commitment.
