Position Summary
The Low Voltage Lead Technician / Foreman is responsible for leading field crews, coordinating daily jobsite activities, ensuring installations meet project specifications and code requirements, and delivering projects safely, on schedule, and with the highest level of quality. This is a hands-on leadership position requiring strong technical knowledge and the ability to supervise technicians while working alongside the crew.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise crews of 2–10 technicians.
- Plan and coordinate daily work activities.
- Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, one-line diagrams, and shop drawings.
- Install and oversee installation of:
- Fire Alarm Systems
- Structured Cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A)
- Fiber Optic Cabling (Single-Mode & Multi-Mode)
- Access Control Systems
- CCTV / Video Surveillance
- Intrusion Detection Systems
- Wireless Access Points (WAPs)
- Audio/Visual Systems
- Paging & Intercom Systems
- DAS/ERRCS Systems (preferred)
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Superintendents, General Contractors, and other trades.
- Perform cable terminations, testing, certification, and troubleshooting.
- Coordinate inspections and AHJ requirements.
- Maintain daily reports, production tracking, and as-built documentation.
- Enforce OSHA safety standards and company policies.
- Train, mentor, and develop apprentice and junior technicians.
- Ensure projects are completed on time while maintaining quality workmanship.
Pay: $36.00 - $46.00 per hour
