Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Shift Manager to lead our retail team through busy and rewarding shifts. Duties
- Supervise daily store activities, ensuring smooth operations during your shift.
- Lead and motivate the sales team to meet and exceed sales targets through effective management and coaching.
- Oversee inventory management, including stock replenishment, merchandising, and stock control to optimize product availability.
- Manage cash handling procedures, POS (Point of Sale) systems, and cashiering responsibilities with accuracy and integrity.
- Ensure exceptional customer service by addressing customer inquiries, resolving issues promptly, and maintaining high satisfaction levels.
- Coordinate employee orientation, training & development initiatives to enhance team skills and performance.
- Conduct interviews for potential new hires, participate in recruiting efforts, and assist with onboarding processes.
- Maintain operational standards by monitoring pricing strategies, merchandising displays, and store cleanliness.
- Handle scheduling, payroll processing, bookkeeping tasks, and manage budgets to ensure efficient store operations.
- Enforce company policies on health & safety regulations while fostering a positive work environment built on teamwork and communication.
Requirements
- Proven supervisory or managerial experience within the retail industry, especially in sales team management or store operations.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and communicate effectively across diverse groups.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in inventory control, cash handling, and operational procedures.
- Experience with POS systems, retail math (pricing, sales calculations), and basic bookkeeping or payroll processes.
- Demonstrated ability in customer service excellence and phone etiquette in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of retail industry sales techniques, merchandising strategies, and inventory management practices.
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities are highly desirable for engaging with diverse customer bases.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently during shifts.
- Familiarity with grocery or retail store product knowledge is a plus; experience in grocery stores is advantageous.
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously while maintaining a positive attitude under pressure.
