Duties
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curricula that promote literacy, numeracy, social skills, and physical development in young children
- Create a stimulating classroom environment that encourages exploration, creativity, and independence
- Manage daily classroom activities, including circle time, play-based learning, and structured lessons
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to discuss student progress, behavior, and developmental milestones
- Apply behavior management strategies to foster positive behavior and resolve conflicts effectively
- Ensure compliance with all mandated reporting laws and child welfare regulations
- Maintain detailed records of children's progress, attendance, and assessments such as standardized testing results
- Incorporate special education techniques and early intervention strategies to support children with diverse needs
- Promote inclusive practices that respect cultural differences and individual learning styles
- Provide first aid and CPR as required to ensure a safe environment for all children
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices
- Proven experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or private school settings
- Strong classroom management skills to create a safe, organized learning space
- Ability to develop engaging lesson plans tailored to various age groups including toddlers and preschoolers
- Excellent communication skills for effective parent engagement and team collaboration
- Familiarity with curriculum development for literacy education, math instruction, physical education, and childhood welfare programs
- Experience with behavior management techniques and classroom discipline strategies
- Knowledge of mandated reporting laws related to child abuse or neglect
- Ability to adapt teaching methods for children requiring special education or early intervention services
- Certification in first aid and CPR is required or highly preferred
- Experience working with standardized testing tools to assess early learning outcomes
- Strong organizational skills for maintaining accurate records and documentation
