Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will assess, plan, and implement personalized therapy programs to enhance patients' functional independence across a variety of settings. Duties
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ physical and cognitive abilities, focusing on areas such as ADLs (Activities of Daily Living), mobility, and sensory processing.
- Develop and implement tailored treatment plans that align with patients’ goals, medical conditions, and care plans.
- Assist patients with ADLs such as dressing, grooming, feeding, and toileting to promote independence.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, speech therapists, physical therapists, and social workers to coordinate care.
- Provide therapy interventions for individuals with autism, disabilities, or neurological conditions across pediatric and adult populations.
- Facilitate discharge planning by preparing patients for transition to home or other care settings through skill development and caregiver education.
- Document patient progress accurately in medical records while adhering to healthcare regulations and standards.
- Participate in case management activities to ensure comprehensive patient care throughout the recovery process.
- Offer specialized therapy services in various environments including inpatient units, outpatient clinics, home health visits, or school settings.
- Maintain current knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and speech therapy techniques relevant to occupational therapy practices.
Experience
- Proven experience working in acute care settings such as hospitals or ICU environments is highly desirable.
- Prior involvement in skilled nursing facilities or post-acute care environments demonstrates your ability to manage complex cases effectively.
- Experience providing occupational therapy services within outpatient clinics or home health programs is preferred.
- Familiarity with early intervention programs and school-based therapy enhances your versatility as an OT professional.
- Knowledge of working with individuals with autism and disabilities across diverse age groups is essential.
- Strong understanding of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and case management processes supports effective treatment planning.
