Goldendale Market Fresh is looking for an experienced, hands-on Store Director to lead our Goldendale location.
We are seeking a leader who understands that running a successful grocery store is about more than hitting sales numbers. It means developing a strong team, maintaining high standards, taking care of customers, managing the details, and creating a store the community can depend on.
The Store Director will have overall responsibility for the day-to-day operation and performance of Goldendale Market Fresh.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, develop, and hold store employees and department managers accountable.
- Oversee daily store operations and ensure departments are properly staffed and prepared for business.
- Drive sales, gross margin, labor productivity, and overall store profitability.
- Monitor inventory levels, ordering, receiving, shrink, out-of-stocks, and merchandising.
- Maintain strong standards for store conditions, cleanliness, organization, pricing, signage, and product presentation.
- Work closely with Grocery, Meat, Produce, Deli, Bakery, and other department leaders.
- Ensure weekly promotions, displays, endcaps, seasonal programs, and merchandising plans are executed effectively.
- Recruit, hire, train, and retain quality employees.
- Build schedules that meet the needs of the business while effectively managing labor.
- Maintain a strong focus on customer service and promptly resolve customer concerns.
- Ensure company policies, food safety requirements, workplace safety standards, and operating procedures are followed.
- Review store performance and identify opportunities to improve sales, margin, labor, inventory, and customer experience.
- Communicate effectively with Kirby Company leadership and support teams.
- Be visible and engaged throughout the store and willing to work alongside the team when needed.

Preferred qualifications include:
- Grocery, retail, or comparable store-management experience.
- Previous leadership experience managing employees and department leaders.
- Strong understanding of retail operations, merchandising, inventory, and customer service.
- Experience managing labor and store financial performance.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to coach employees while maintaining clear expectations and accountability.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple departments and projects.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
- Dependable, professional, and committed to serving the local community.
