As a Bakery Assistant, you will support daily bakery operations, assist with pastry, pie decorating and preparation of sandwiches, and ensure our workspace remains clean, safe, and efficient. Duties
- Assist in preparing a variety of baked goods, including pastries, pies, bread, and other confections, following established recipes and standards
- Operate kitchen equipment such as mixers, ovens, slicers, and pastry tools safely and efficiently
- Package baked items for retail display or catering orders with attention to presentation and quality
- Support food handling procedures to maintain food safety standards throughout all stages of production
- Decorate pies and pastries with creative designs to meet customer specifications or seasonal themes
- Maintain a clean workspace by regularly sanitizing surfaces, utensils, and equipment in compliance with food safety regulations
- Contribute to high-volume production by managing multiple tasks simultaneously while adhering to recipe guidelines
Experience
- Previous experience in food production, bakery work, or culinary environments is highly desirable
- Skilled in pastry preparation, pie decorating, and baking techniques with a keen eye for detail
- Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment such as mixers, ovens, knives, and food processors
- Strong understanding of food safety management practices and proper food handling procedures
- Experience in catering or restaurant settings demonstrating high-volume production capabilities
- Basic math skills for measuring ingredients accurately and managing inventory levels
- Excellent customer service skills to assist customers with product inquiries or special requests
