Build the Future of Fast Casual with Teriyaki Madness
With 216+ shops and rapid growth nationwide, Teriyaki Madness is one of the fastest-growing fast casual restaurant brands in the country. We’re looking for a Director of Construction to lead the charge in building the next generation of shops. This isn’t just about project management, it's about scaling a system, evolving a brand, and delivering a consistently excellent guest experience through physical space.
This position is more than day-to-day project management. The right candidate will help strengthen processes, improve construction timelines, support cost control, and create consistency across a growing development pipeline. This role will work closely with real estate, design, operations, franchise partners, architects, general contractors, vendors, and consultants to ensure each project is completed efficiently, professionally, and in alignment with company standards.
Why This Role Stands Out
- Meaningful Impact: You will play a key role in supporting the company’s continued growth by helping bring new restaurant locations to life across multiple markets.
- High-Visibility Work: This role works closely with leadership and cross-functional teams, with a direct impact on development timelines, project execution, and opening success.
- Process Improvement Opportunity: You will help evaluate and improve construction processes, vendor relationships, communication systems, and project tracking tools to support scalable growth.
- Collaborative Environment: You will partner with internal teams, franchise partners, contractors, and outside consultants to move projects forward with transparency, accountability, and practical solutions.
- Hands-On Execution: This is a role for someone who enjoys being close to the work, solving problems, managing details, and ensuring projects are completed on time and to standard.
What You’ll Do
- Manage construction projects for new restaurant locations, and other development-related projects from planning through completion.
- Oversee project timelines, contractors, vendors, consultants, and other construction-related resources.
- Coordinate with real estate, design, operations, franchise development, and other internal teams to support site readiness and successful project execution.
- Review project status, identify risks, and proactively resolve issues that may impact cost, timing, permitting, quality, or opening schedules.
- Support permitting, contractor communication, and construction readiness.
- Conduct virtual job site visits and inspections as needed to monitor progress, quality, and compliance with company standards.
- Track key construction metrics, including project timelines, contractor performance, cost per square foot, and post-opening issues.
- Partner with franchisees and others throughout the construction process, providing guidance, updates, and accountability.
- Help strengthen vendor, contractor, and consultant relationships to support a growing development pipeline.
- Assist in developing and improving construction-related systems, communication tools, processes, and reporting standards.
Who You Are
- 5+ years of construction leadership experience in the fast casual or QSR space (preferably in the restaurant, retail, hospitality, or multi-unit development experience).
- Proven success in managing multi-unit restaurant development at scale.
- Strong project management skills across timelines, budgets, and vendor relationships.
- Experienced in site permitting
- Confident leader who thrives in high-growth, fast-moving environments.
- Highly collaborative with strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Organized, curious, and able to think big while sweating the small stuff.
