Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and professional Host to create a welcoming atmosphere for our guests. The ideal candidate will have experience in food service and hospitality, demonstrating excellent communication skills and a passion for guest relations. As the first point of contact, the Host plays a vital role in ensuring a positive dining or guest experience, managing reservations, and maintaining smooth operations at the front entrance of our establishment.
Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with seating arrangements
- Manage waitlists efficiently using POS systems such as SpotOn POS Toast POS and yelp guest manager
- Provide accurate wait times and communicate effectively with guests during busy periods
- Maintain a clean and organized host stand area
- Answer phone inquiries with professional phone etiquette and provide information about services or wait times
- Coordinate with servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure seamless guest flow
- Handle guest concerns or special requests courteously, fostering positive guest relations
- Assist in maintaining overall cleanliness and presentation of the front-of-house area
- Support other restaurant or hospitality team members as needed to deliver exceptional guest service
Experience
- Previous experience as a Host/Hostess or in food service is preferred
- Experience in restaurant operations, including guest services, serving, or hospitality roles is advantageous
- Familiarity with POS systems such as SpotOn POS or Toast POS is a plus
- Hotel or guest relations experience can be beneficial
- Strong communication skills, including phone etiquette and guest interaction skills, are essential
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly demeanor and professional appearance
