Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and energetic Yard Jockey Driver to join our dynamic logistics team! Responsibilities
- Safely operate tractor-trailers, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and other freight vehicles within the yard
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary
- Move trailers between dock doors, parking areas, and storage zones with precision and care
- Conduct pre-trip inspections on vehicles to ensure safety standards are met before movement
- Assist with route driving tasks when needed for delivery or pickup assignments
- Maintain accurate logs of trailer movements, load statuses, and yard activities
- Follow all safety protocols and traffic regulations to prevent accidents or damages
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record
- Experience operating manual transmission trucks and tractor-trailers in a commercial setting
- Familiarity with different trailer types including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks
- Prior experience as a delivery driver or yard jockey driver preferred
- Ability to load & unload freight efficiently and safely using forklifts or other equipment when required
- Strong knowledge of route driving practices and yard logistics management
- Physical ability to stand, walk, and maneuver for extended periods; capable of performing routine vehicle inspections and yard duties
