Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Chief Engineer to lead our facilities maintenance and engineering operations. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the management, maintenance, and repair of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems across our manufacturing or industrial site. Your leadership will ensure that all facilities operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry standards and safety regulations. Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise facilities maintenance teams to ensure timely repair and upkeep of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, low voltage, high voltage, and industrial systems.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs following established procedures to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
- Oversee troubleshooting and repair of complex mechanical systems using schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Manage facility projects from planning through execution, ensuring adherence to safety regulations such as OSHA standards.
- Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to track work orders, maintenance schedules, inventory levels, and equipment history.
- Conduct regular inspections of mechanical systems including HVAC units, electrical panels, plumbing infrastructure, and high/low voltage systems to identify issues proactively.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations by enforcing safety protocols among team members and maintaining proper documentation.
- Manage facilities maintenance budgets, procurement processes for parts and tools like ohmmeters and other diagnostic equipment.
- Collaborate with management on engineering troubleshooting initiatives to optimize system performance across manufacturing operations.
- Maintain detailed schematics and technical documentation for all mechanical and electrical systems for quick reference during repairs or upgrades.
Experience
- Proven management experience supervising facilities maintenance or engineering teams within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Extensive knowledge of mechanical systems repair including HVAC system repair, plumbing system maintenance, electrical systems (including high voltage), and industrial maintenance procedures.
- Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), electrical troubleshooting using tools like ohmmeters, schematics interpretation, and safety regulations adherence (OSHA).
- Strong project management skills with a track record of managing multiple facilities projects simultaneously.
- Familiarity with CMMS platforms for work order management and inventory control.
- Demonstrated leadership in managing facilities maintenance teams while ensuring compliance with safety standards such as OSHA regulations.
- Excellent communication skills in English for effective team coordination and reporting purposes.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes related to facilities management including HVAC system repair, electrical system troubleshooting, plumbing maintenance, high/low voltage systems handling, and mechanical troubleshooting techniques.

Pay: $49,756.40 - $52,000.00 per year
