Human Resources Manager
Job Summary
The Human Resources Manager facilitates all aspects of the HR function for Ghidorzi, serving as a valuable and trusted advocate for employees while understanding and representing the business needs of the organization. The Human Resources Manager serves as a trusted advisor to the owner and leadership team working closely to maximize the capabilities our company through our employees.
Ghidorzi is a fully integrated architecture, construction and interior design firm that specializes in commercial buildings, real-estate development and tenant build-outs. The Ghidorzi Hotel Group delivers an exceptional guest experience through our hospitality portfolio in Wausau, including the Hilton Garden Inn, Van Acre Restaurant, Courtyard by Marriott and Fairfield by Marriott.
Primary Responsibilities
- Oversees and ensures effective practices in all areas of Human Resources for the organization, including but not limited to recruiting, compensation, benefits, employee relations and training.
- Works with management to establish compensation and benefits programs; recommends changes to benefit structure or offerings to ensure competitiveness; serves as the liaison between third party benefits administrators and company; administers and explains benefits to employees.
- Collaborates with Accounting and the third-party administrator to facilitate the company 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan, ensuring employee participation is administered correctly and accurately; serves as the lead in any audit procedures.
- Conducts compensation research and makes recommendations on appropriate salary ranges for all positions.
- Facilitates the recruiting process, including writing job descriptions, posting open positions, reviewing resumes, screening and interviewing applicants, evaluating applicant skills and making recommendations regarding applicant's qualifications; coaches supervisors on effective recruiting practices.
- Recommends employee retention strategies; monitors and reports on their effectiveness.
- Assesses the training needs of the organization; coordinates and documents training as needed.
- Administrates performance review processes, ensuring employees receive clear direction and feedback at appropriate time intervals.
- Administers new hire orientation and/or coordinates with managers to ensure orientation is completed. Makes recommendations for the most effective onboarding procedures, ensuring that employees are effectively acclimated to company culture and expectations.
- In collaboration with the leadership team, writes, edits and releases employee communications.
- Stays current, and ensures compliance with, all employment-related legislation; monitors company policies and communicates with supervisors as needed to ensure compliance.
- Maintains accurate and complete employee records, maximizing efficiencies available within the HRIS.
- Serves as the key point of contact for all employee leave requests, policy interpretation and guidance.
- Ensures employee handbooks, policies and procedures are updated and relevant, providing guidance and interpretation as necessary for both employees and managers.
- Collaborates with, and makes recommendations to, management to effectively resolve employee relations issues; ensures that all interactions follow due process and are well documented.
- Supports safety program for Ghidorzi Construction and other company entities; investigates, documents and reports on workplace accidents; manages worker’s compensation insurance.
- Serves as the contact for all unemployment related activity, responding accurately and efficiently to claims.
- Upholds confidentiality of all company and employee matters.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field.
- SHRM-SCP, PHR/SPHR or equivalent certification preferred.
- Minimum of five years of experience in human resources.
- Knowledge of principles, practices and procedures of all areas of HR Management.
- Knowledge of and ability to correctly interpret all employment-related legislation.
- Highly proficient with technology and software applications; previous experience with HRIS systems a plus.
Pay: $60,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
