POSITION TITLE: COORDINATOR OF ACCOUNTABILITY
REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR OF SCHOOL AND TEACHER QUALITY
OVER-TIME STATUS: EXEMPT PAY GRADE: 224
JOB SUMMARY:
Under the guidance of the Director of School and Teacher Quality, the position is responsible for
providing leadership, alignment, coordination and delivery of the accountability model for the
school division, as well as supporting the division school improvement processes, led by the
director. The coordinator ensures that reliable data and resources are available for school
administrators and leadership teams to make informed decisions to improve school quality.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

? Collaborates with the Director of School and Teacher Quality and the Director of
Assessment and Accountability to ensure alignment of work in support of student testing,
academic achievement,and school improvement.
? Support the Director of School and Teacher Quality in the process of monitoring the
impact of school improvement objectives, and demonstrating progress.
? Work cooperatively with school leaders, leadership teams, and instructional data
specialists in analyzing and organizing data for the purpose of informing instructional
practices and promoting high levels of student achievement.
? Communicate to school leaders and division leaders the accountability and evaluation
systems (SSP framework, DOMO, VVAAS, etc.)
? Disaggregate, calculate and interpret student assessment data, which will include all
state assessments, state interim assessments, local benchmark assessments, and
curriculum-based assessments (CBA) given by the district throughout the school year.
? Collect, analyze, and interpret student achievement data from various sources (state
assessments, formative assessments, classroom observations) to identify strengths
and areas for improvement.
? Analyze assessment results to identify trends and patterns in student learning.
? Facilitate professional development opportunities related to data analysis, assessment
strategies, and using data to make decisions to improve student learning.
? Monitor compliance with state and federal accountability requirements.
? Prepare and present accountability reports
? Supervise and evaluate classified and certified staff, as assigned.
? Train Instructional Data Specialists (IDS) in effective data collection, analysis and
application to support school improvement.
? Support IDS in the role of coaching teachers in PLCs to use data to guide instructional decisions
decisions, as well as in utilizing data to monitor progress.
? Perform related work as required.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Must have a thorough knowledge of the principles, practices, and procedures of school administration; policies and regulations governing the school division for local, state and federal entities; school division objectives, procedures, and organization; school personnel and administrative practices, procedures and methods for conducting standardized testing, and effective leadership practices. Must have the ability to demonstrate excellent oral and written communications skills; establish and maintain effective working relationships with school officials, administrators, teachers, staff, and associates.
Must have the use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public using the telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear, handle or feel objects and controls. Frequent sitting, walking, bending, grasping, fingering, repetitive motion, and reaching. Occasional standing, stooping, and driving. Ability to lift up to 20 pounds frequently. Requires timely and regular adherence to established work schedules. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential tasks. Possession of a valid Virginia Driver's License Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Required: Master's Degree. Professional license required with endorsements in Administration and Supervision Pre-K-12. Must have educational and administrative experience.
