LUCKY DOG PET CLUB
Position Description
1933 S Volusia Ave Orange City, FL
Position Overview
Title: Pet Care & Front Desk Associate
Reports To: Integrator
Location: 1933 S Volusia Ave, Orange City, FL
Type: Full-Time
Compensation: Hourly base + performance incentive tied to card-on-file enrollment and membership conversions
The Pet Care & Front Desk Associate is the hands-on caretaker of our boarding and grooming guests, and the first voice and face customers meet at Lucky Dog. This person keeps the animals safe and comfortable in the back, runs a warm, accurate front desk, and captures the card-on-file that turns a single visit into a recurring relationship. The right person treats every pet like their own, makes every customer feel welcome, and understands that the front desk is where the membership relationship begins.
Our Core Values
Every person on this team lives these values. They are how we operate every day.
1. Lead with Conviction
Integrity based leadership. Do what is right when no one is watching.
2. Pets First, People Always
The animal’s well-being is the standard. The family’s experience is the proof.
3. Own the Outcome
No excuses, no blame. We own results — good and bad — and fix what is broken.
Our Core Focus
Purpose / Cause / Passion:
Build neighborhood pet care with recurring trust — and the system that scales it.
Our Niche:
A grooming, boarding, and daycare unit runs on card-on-file memberships.
The front desk is where card-on-file is captured and where most members are won. Every booking taken with a card on file, and every membership offered at check-in, is the Core Focus put into practice at the unit level.
What You Will Do
Boarding, Daycare, Bathing, and Grooming
- Care for boarding and daycare guests on schedule — feeding, water, exercise, rest, and clean accommodations
- Monitor every animal for signs of stress, illness, or injury; escalate concerns immediately
- Verify vaccination compliance at intake — no current vaccinations, no service
- Maintain sanitation, kennel, and animal-safety standards at all times
- Handle pets of all sizes and temperaments calmly and safely; follow special-handling protocols for anxious or reactive animals
- Log incidents and unusual behavior on the same day
Front Desk & Client Experience
- Greet every customer and pet by name; own the check-in and check-out experience
- Answer phones, respond to inquiries, and book appointments in Gingr
- Run point of sale — process payments and capture card-on-file at every booking
- Hold the standard: no card on file, non-member pricing
- Welcome-back treat at check-in and a take-home treat at pickup — every visit, every pet
Membership & Card-on-File
- Offer the Lucky Dog Pet Club at every customer touchpoint — booking, drop-off, and pickup
- Use the trained pitch structure and handle objections with confidence
- Enroll new customers with card-on-file at first booking — 100%, every time
- Log every membership conversion in Gingr
- Support the 90-day conversion campaign with consistency and urgency
Gingr & Systems
- Operate Gingr daily — bookings, POS, card-on-file, and recurring billing
- Keep customer records, service history, and notes clean and current
- Flag any system issue to the Integrator the same day
Team & Standards
- Participate in the daily 15-minute huddle and review the day’s bookings and pickups
- Model the Core Values in every interaction — with pets, customers, and teammates
- Surface problems early, not late
- Support new teammates as they learn the floor and the membership pitch
What You Bring
Non-Negotiable
- Genuine love for animals and the people who care for them
- Alignment with all three Core Values — these are not optional
- Reliable, trustworthy, and accountable — you own your outcomes
- Comfortable handling pets of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments
- Able to be on your feet for a full shift and to safely lift and handle dogs and supplies up to 50 lbs
- Able to work some weekends and holidays — this is a pet care business
- Dependable personal transportation and consistent punctuality — arriving ready and on time, every shift is a must
Skills & Experience
- Customer-facing experience — pet care, retail, hospitality, or service industry
- Comfort making the membership ask and handling a no
- Basic computer and CRM comfort — any platform counts; Gingr training provided on Day 1
- Clear, warm, and confident communication with customers and teammates
- Organized and detail-oriented — you notice what’s wrong before someone tells you
- Dependable and team-first — you make the people around you better
Preferred but Not Required
- Kennel, boarding, or daycare experience
- Experience with Gingr, GoHighLevel, or similar CRM and booking platforms
- Bilingual — Spanish a plus, given the Orange City community
What We Offer
- Competitive hourly base
- Performance incentive tied directly to card-on-file enrollment and membership conversions
- Business Growth Sharing Plan — earn a share of the business’s growth over time
- Gingr, membership, and customer-service training from Day 1
- A clear path to advancement as Lucky Dog grows — including the Store Manager track
- A team that operates with purpose, discipline, and genuine care for animals and people
- The opportunity to be part of building something great — not just running something
A Note on This Role
Lucky Dog is in transition. A new ownership team with a clear vision and a real plan is taking the business from a cash-heavy storefront to a card-on-file, recurring-revenue model. The Pet Care & Front Desk Associate is on the front line of that change every single day — at the desk where the card goes on file, and the membership relationship begins.
This is a hands-on role for someone who wants to grow. Do it well, and the path to Store Manager and beyond is open.
If you love pets, love people, and want to be part of something worth building — we want to hear from you.
