Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
The Licensed Practical Nurse collaborates in the workflow of the clinic in a timely, consistent and systematic manner. The LPN performs technical services/procedures according to Oklahoma Nursing standards and protocol.
Essential responsibilities
- Carries out patient care plans per Nurse Practitioner’s orders.
- Interviews patients and records their medical history and physical condition.
- Obtains patient vital signs, including pulse, blood pressure, temperature, and respiration.
- Provides routine care for patients.
- Observes patients’ health.
- Reviews medical charts.
- Accompanies patients to their rooms.
- Assists Nurse Practitioners and registered nurses.
- Communicates with patients and their families.
- Performs standard diagnostic procedures including EKG, phlebotomy, venipuncture, spirometry and Doppler.
- Prepares specimens for lab courier.
- Administers medications.
- Prepares and administers injections and/or enemas.
- Assists with patient comfort.
- Monitors catheters.

Documents subjective and objective data according to policy.
Demonstrates effective patient safety techniques and infection control.
Works as part of the clinic team in an effective and efficient manner to accomplish daily objectives.
Demonstrates effective and accurate verbal, written and electronic communication, and participates in clinic initiatives and operations.
Minimum qualifications
Education: Graduate accredited Practical Nursing Program.
Licensure: Must possess and maintain LPN licensure.
Certifications: Current BLS Certification required before assigned to care for patients independently.
Preferred Experience: Medical office experience preferred. Experience Two years’ experience in the Licensed Practical Nurse role preferred
