Commission Administrative Coordinator
Position Summary
The Commission Administrative Coordinator provides confidential, executive-level administrative support to the Cass County Commissioners. As the first point of contact for the Commission Office, this position serves as the professional face of the office, providing exceptional customer service while managing Commission business through agendas, meetings, communications, financial administration, statutory compliance, and special projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for the Commission Office by greeting visitors, answering the Commission phone line, responding to inquiries, directing requests, and providing exceptional customer service.
- Provide executive-level administrative support to the County Commissioners.
- Manage the weekly Commission agenda process from submission through publication, including agendas, meeting materials, resolutions, contracts, public notices, and statutory posting requirements.
- Coordinate with County legal counsel, department heads, elected officials, and outside agencies to ensure Commission business is complete, accurate, and ready for consideration.
- Prepare, edit, proofread, and distribute professional correspondence, reports, presentations, public notices, and other official Commission communications.
- Manage Commission calendars, meetings, work sessions and travel arrangements.
- Process invoices, review department credit card statements, coordinate purchasing documentation, and maintain financial records.
- Coordinate Commission projects, including contract administration, compliance monitoring, records management, and follow-up assignments.
- Assist departments with purchasing.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications
- Five (5) years of progressively responsible executive administrative support experience.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Office Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience in local government or public administration preferred.
Compensation
The salary range for this position is $45,000 - $60,000 annually, with starting salary determined based on experience and qualifications.
