Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and quality standards, ensuring consistency and presentation.
- Operate various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grills, fryers, and food processors.
- Assist with menu planning by suggesting creative ideas and ensuring ingredient availability.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering strictly to food safety and sanitation standards.
- Handle food safely by following proper food handling procedures, including storage, temperature control, and cross-contamination prevention.
- Support meal preparation for dine-in, takeout, or catering orders while adhering to recipe specifications.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate timing and ensure smooth service flow.
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation within a restaurant or food industry setting.
- Strong knowledge of safety standards in production environments and food safety management practices.
- Excellent knife skills with slicing techniques for efficient prep work.
- Ability to follow recipes accurately and maintain consistency across dishes.
- Experience with dietary department procedures or dietary aide experience is a plus.
- Skilled in operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate seamlessly with kitchen team members.
- Knowledge of catering processes and serving protocols enhances versatility in the role.
