NC Trucking LLC is seeking an experienced, dependable, and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our growing truck repair team.
The Diesel Mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining commercial trucks, diesel engines, trailers, and related systems. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical and diagnostic skills, works safely and efficiently, and takes pride in completing quality repairs.
This is a hands-on position in a fast-paced repair shop where your experience and workmanship will directly help keep our customers’ trucks safely on the road.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, electrical systems, air-brake systems, suspension, steering, and HVAC systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, oil changes, tune-ups, and routine services on commercial trucks and trailers.
- Repair and replace brakes, rotors, wheel seals, hubs, bearings, suspension components, leaf springs, U-bolts, and related parts.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical concerns using diagnostic equipment, schematics, and manufacturer specifications.
- Perform DOT-related inspections and identify safety concerns or necessary repairs.
- Complete trailer repairs, including brakes, bearings, seals, lighting, wiring, and suspension work.
- Perform welding or light fabrication when needed.
- Conduct road-service repairs when assigned.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Properly document inspections, repairs, parts used, and services completed.
- Communicate clearly with management regarding repair recommendations, parts needs, and job completion.
- Follow all company safety procedures and industry standards.
Qualifications and Experience
- Previous experience as a Diesel Mechanic, Truck Mechanic, Fleet Mechanic, or Heavy-Duty Technician is required.
- Experience repairing commercial trucks, diesel engines, and trailers.
- Strong knowledge of air brakes, suspension, steering, electrical systems, wheel seals, hubs, and preventive maintenance.
- Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical problems accurately.
- Experience using scan tools, hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment.
- Welding and fabrication experience is preferred.
- Must be able to safely lift heavy parts and perform physically demanding repairs.
- Must be dependable, punctual, organized, and able to work independently.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- CDL and diesel certifications are preferred but not required.
- Must provide personal hand tools commonly used for diesel repairs.

Schedule
- Full-time
- Monday through Friday
- Weekend or road-service availability may occasionally be required
