ESSCO Truck & Equipment is seeking an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic with a minimum of three years of relevant experience. The successful candidate will perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on diesel engines and heavy-duty equipment. This is a highly hands-on position that requires strong mechanical skills, attention to detail, dependability, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Requirements
- Minimum of three years of experience repairing diesel engines and heavy-duty trucks
- Experience in diagnosing and repairing heavy-vehicle emission control systems and related components
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting procedures
- Basic computer skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to properly use mobile devices, including iPhones and iPads
- Experience using diagnostic software, including:
- Cummins INSITE
- JPRO
- E-Technician
- Allison DOC
- Must own a complete set of tools appropriate for the position
- Must consent to a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds
- Ability to work in environments with loud noise
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to perform physically demanding, hands-on work
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
- Basic welding skills
- Ability to fabricate hydraulic hoses
- Experience removing and installing heavy-truck and construction-equipment tires
- Forklift certification
- Experience using an oxy-acetylene torch
- License or certification to perform DOT inspections
- Knowledge of automotive HVAC service and repair
