Duties
- Develop and implement engaging curriculum plans tailored to preschool-aged children, incorporating early intervention strategies, literacy education, math activities, and physical education.
- Foster a positive classroom atmosphere through effective classroom management and behavior management techniques, ensuring safety and inclusivity for all children.
- Conduct child development assessments to monitor progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly, utilizing standardized testing when appropriate.
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about their child’s progress, milestones, and any concerns, building strong partnerships to support each child's welfare.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, developmental milestones, and incident reports in compliance with mandated reporting laws.
- Lead activities that promote social-emotional growth, fine motor skills, gross motor skills, and cognitive development aligned with childhood development standards.
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan lessons that incorporate childcare best practices and support diverse learning needs, including special education or early intervention programs.
Skills
- Extensive experience working with children in preschool or early childhood education settings.
- Strong knowledge of curriculum development, lesson planning, classroom management, and behavior management techniques.
- Familiarity with child welfare laws, mandated reporting requirements, and health & safety protocols such as first aid and CPR certification.
- Ability to communicate effectively with young children, parents, colleagues, and administrators.
- Proficiency in teaching physical education activities, literacy skills including reading readiness, math concepts, and standardized testing procedures.
- Experience in working with toddlers or children requiring special education or early intervention services is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to foster inclusive learning environments that support childhood development and promote positive behavior.
