No irrigation experience? No problem. If you're reliable, coachable, and want to learn a real trade with a real career path and room for advancement, we'll teach you everything. We're looking for the right attitude, not a resume.
Learn to perform routine skills associated with irrigation management, including digging, pipe repair, head/valve replacement and small equipment operation. Our service techs work with our repair crews to solve the service problem quickly by utilizing the correct machinery and labor to solve the problem. Our techs are not alone - we work as a group to provide the best possible service to our customers.
In addition to paid training, we sponsor the Certified Irrigation Technician (CIT) exam for outstanding apprentices/trainees.
What we are looking for:
- Self starter with a strong work ethic and attendance record
- Reliable transportation to 37209 office location
- Age 21+ with valid driver's license in good standing (in order to be insured by our provider).
- Ability to repeatedly lift 50 pounds and kneel/bend/stoop for extended periods of time.
- Language: English or Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Someone who is mechanically inclined, even if only for personal projects
- Eagerness to learn and ability to take direction well
- Someone who is looking for a career, not just a paycheck
Your training will include instruction on how to complete the following essential duties and responsibilities:
- Repair existing underground sprinkler and drip systems, including malfunctioning heads and nozzles.
- Adjust spray heads for correct coverage.
- Mitigate all irrigation-related safety hazards.
- Operate equipment.
- Apply a surgical approach to all work.
- Maintain professional communication with technicians, irrigation supervisors and the general public.
- Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Working Conditions:
- Extensive driving and walking. Exposure to weather conditions; pesticides; fertilizers; pollen producing environment; paint and petroleum products
