Supplemental Health Care is partnering with a supportive school district in Morgan Hill, California seeking a dedicated Adaptive Physical Education (APE) Instructor to support students during the 2026-2027 school year. This full-time contract opportunity is ideal for an educator passionate about helping students with diverse learning and physical needs participate successfully in physical education programs.
Job Details
- Pay: $53 - $57 per hour
- Schedule: Full-time for the 2026-2027 school year
- Hours: Up to 40 hours per week
- Daily Schedule: Approximately 7.5 hours per day, including a 30-minute lunch period
Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments to determine students' physical education needs and abilities
- Develop and contribute to Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Provide modified and adaptive physical education instruction for students with disabilities
- Design activities that promote physical development, motor skills, and participation
- Collaborate with special education staff, physical education teachers, therapists, and school teams
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports
- Support compliance with federal, state, and district special education requirements
Required Qualifications
- Valid Single Subject Teaching Credential in Physical Education
- Valid Adapted Physical Education Specialist Credential
- Experience working with students receiving special education services preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to develop individualized instructional strategies that meet student needs
