Residential & Commercial Property Adjuster (Field)
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and customer-focused Residential & Commercial Property Adjuster to join our growing claims team. This field-based position is responsible for investigating, evaluating, negotiating, and resolving first-party residential and commercial property claims while also conducting casualty investigations when needed. The ideal candidate has strong estimating skills using Xactimate, excellent investigative abilities, and a commitment to providing exceptional service to policyholders, carriers, and clients.
This position requires frequent travel within the assigned territory to inspect losses, evaluate damages, interview involved parties, and prepare detailed reports and estimates.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Investigate residential and commercial property claims.
- Perform on-site inspections to assess property damage and determine the scope of loss.
- Prepare accurate repair estimates using Xactimate.
- Interview insureds, claimants, witnesses, contractors, and other involved parties to obtain factual statements.
- Photograph damages, gather documentation, secure evidence, and maintain complete electronic claim files.
- Analyze damages, determine cause of loss.
- Maintain timely diary management and meet service level agreements for claim handling.
- Prepare clear, detailed reports documenting liability, causation, damages, and settlement recommendations.
- Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining professionalism during difficult claim situations.
- Maintain compliance with state regulations, carrier requirements, and company procedures.
- Respond to catastrophic events when required, including potential travel outside the assigned territory.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3-5 years of property claims adjusting experience handling residential and commercial losses.
- Experience conducting casualty investigations preferred.
- Proficiency with Xactimate estimating software required.
- Experience with mobile claims technology and electronic file management systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to independently manage a high-volume claim inventory.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to travel extensively throughout the assigned territory.
Preferred Qualifications
- Active Property & Casualty Adjuster License(s) or ability to obtain required licensing.
- Experience working with independent adjusting firms.
- Previous catastrophe (CAT) deployment experience.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
